Privacy Policy
WhiteHousePortrush.com is committed to protecting your privacy. We will not disclose your information to third parties except when it is part of providing a service to you - for example, arranging delivery of a product, completing payments and carrying out security checks, requesting feedback or processing a refund.
This policy explains how we use customer information, how we protect your privacy and how we comply with the Law on Data Protection.
1. Collection of information
When you shop with us there are a few ways we gather information about you:
- Personal information about you (excluding your payment card data) is gathered from our secure online shopping facility, our online newsletter subscription, our contact us, live chat, tell-a-friend functions and our wedding and gift list functions both online and instore.
- When you place an order or start a product enquiry with us, we ask for information such as your name, e-mail address, delivery address and contact details. We keep a record of this information. All this is necessary for us to recognise you as a customer in the future and to fulfil the orders you place with us.
- We use cookies for a few reasons such as keeping track of your current shopping session and remembering your preferences. More information about cookies and their purpose can be found in Section 5, 6 and The Cookie Policy.
- If you buy or purchase from us, your payment card details are collected by Sage Pay (an online payment provider), this means we do not hold or store this type of personal information.
- We keep a record of your purchases so that if you experience any problems with your order we can deal with them quickly. With your consent we can send you details of relevant offers.
- We keep a record of any e-mail correspondence you send us, which helps us keep track of any problems or concerns you've had with our products or services.
- If you subscribe to our newsletter, we only keep your email address to allow us to send you newsletters. At all times you have the right to unsubscribe and can do so by clicking the link within the email.
- If you enter a competition with us or a promotional offer, we may ask for your name, address and email address so we can administer the contest and notify winners. We may invite you to join our newsletter mailing list. We will always seek permission prior to adding your details.
- We retain personal information about you (excluding your payment card data) when you join our in store loyalty schemes, Christmas Club or Toy Club and if you make a furniture purchase instore or if you make a layover purchase in store.
- When you make an appointment in store for our beauty hall we will request your contact information and may ask for an email address for confirmation.
- When visiting us in store our CCTV systems may record your image during your visit. These systems are operated for the security of both customers and Partners.

2. Who we share your personal data with
We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information to others.
The third parties that we will share your phone number and address with will be our couriers and our furniture manufacturers where items are made to order and delivered direct to you. This is to ensure that they can contact you in relation to your delivery, e.g. delivery time.
We may also share your information with the following third parties;
- IT support companies who assist with our website and other business systems.
- Delivery couriers
- Direct marketing companies employed by us sorely for delivering our own promotional material
- Google/Facebook to display products of interest. This will be based on either your marketing consent or your acceptance of cookies on our website. See more about cookies in section 5, 6 and The Cookie Policy.
- Data insight companies to make sure your information is correct and current.
To provide you with the best customer service experience we use the review service Feefo. When you make a purchase with us online you are automatically contacted from Feefo regarding a review of our services. If you do not wish to be contacted from Feefo you can email us to opt out.
Apart from our designated couriers and the third parties mentioned above, we will not disclose your personal information to any other third party or organisations unless you give us permission, or there is a legal obligation for us to do so.
3. How and why we use your personal data
The information we collect from you through our website or correspondence is used to improve your service experience. We will always retain your personal information in accordance with law and regulation and will never keep your information for longer than is necessary.
We are committed to using your personal information only for:
- Taking care of your order and providing customer support.
- Planning our business reports and analysing customer shopping habits so we can provide the best experience for you.
- Helping to monitor customer traffic and site usage.
- Providing you with information about our products and services.
We will send you email updates on new products or alerts for special offers which we believe may interest you. This is entirely dependent on your consent and if you would not like to receive this information you can opt out or unsubscribe from these emails anytime. 4. How long we keep your data for
Whenever we collect or process your personal data, we’ll only keep it for as long as is necessary to fulfil your purchase order and cover your warranty (if included). If you have subsctibed to receive marketing we will keep your data until you unsubscribe or request for your data to be removed.
5. Site tracking and cookies
What are Cookies?
Cookies allow a website to recognise a user’s device.
They are a small file of letters and numbers, which often include a unique identifier that is sent to your browser from a website’s computer and is stored on your device’s hard drive.
What is Site Tracking?
We use tracking software to monitor customer traffic patterns and site usage to help us develop the design and layout of the site to better suit your needs.
This software does not enable us to capture any information that could identify you. They are used to track products and add them to your basket during the purchasing process.

6. How to manage your cookies and the use of your personal data for direct marketing
To set your preferences for your cookies please open your chosen browser and click on tools in the menu bar (for Safari this will be under preferences). Click on options then the privacy tab for Safari you can amend your preferences under ‘Cookies & Website Data,’ for Firefox under ‘Use custom settings for history,’ and for Internet Explorer 7.0+ after clicking on privacy, then click on the advanced button, select prompt and then select prompt for both first and third-party cookies. For Google Chrome 8.0+ after clicking on privacy then click on the advanced button, then under privacy and security click content settings, you will then see an option for cookies.
AdChoices are marketing suggestions that may appear when you are using your internet browser. They will make suggestions for products based on your prior search history using information derived from cookies. There are many ways you can make AdChoices work for you, simply click on the blue triangle at the right of the ad in question or visit http://youradchoices.com/. Once on Your AdChoices, go to the control section, here you can see there is a web tool that can help you make choices regarding which companies advertise to you. Visit the Web Choices Tool to opt out of specific companies advertising on your browser.
When purchasing a product from us, under our contractual obligation with you, you will receive between 4-6 emails from us including 2 product and service review emails. These review emails help other customers to make an informed decision on the products and service we offer. If you’d prefer not to receive these emails you can contact our customer service team to opt out here.
We won’t send you any more emails unless we need to contact you regarding your order or if you have subscribed to our newsletter.
You can unsubscribe at any point from our marketing emails. Simply open your latest email from us, scroll to the bottom and click the ‘unsubscribe’ link. Alternatively, if you have an account with us you can log in and select, ‘change subscriptions to email alerts,’ to opt out of receiving our marketing emails.
Please note that you may continue to receive communications for a short period of time after changing your preferences while our systems are fully updated.

7. What are your rights
Whenever we collect or process your personal data, we’ll only keep it for as long as is necessary to fulfil your purchase order and cover your warranty (if included).
We will delete personal data upon request once we have fulfilled our contract with you and at the end of your product’s warranty. Unless legal obligations contradict such a deletion.
You have the right to request:
- Access to the personal data we hold about you, free of charge in most cases.
- The correction of your personal data when incorrect, out of date or incomplete.
- To withdraw consent, or object to the collection of your data if we have no legitimate overriding interest, or once the purpose for which we held your data has came to an end (such as the end of a product’s warranty).
- That we stop using your personal data for direct marketing (either through specific channels, or all channels).
- To protect the confidentiality of your information, we will ask you to verify your identity before proceeding with any request you make under this Privacy Notice. If you have authorised a third party to submit a request on your behalf, we will ask them to prove they have your permission to act.
Where we rely on our legitimate interest
In cases where we are processing your personal data based on our legitimate interest, you can ask us to stop for reasons connected to your individual situation. We must then do so unless we believe we have a legitimate overriding reason to continue processing your personal data.
When visiting us in store our CCTV systems may record your image during your visit. These systems are operated for the security of our customers.

3. Facebook Conversion Tracking Pixel
Facebook Conversion Tracking Pixel allows us to see a user’s actions after they have been directed to our site by clicking on a Facebook advertisement. The data collected remains anonymous, we cannot see personal data of any individual user.
When you agree to Facebook’s privacy policy you also agree for Facebook Pixel to track your browsing history, so it can advertise products that suit you best. We work with external affiliates to help us promote our products to you. Affiliate Future shows us other websites that you have come from or used when making a purchase on SlumberSlumber. This allows us to map your customer journey and provide a tailored user experience for your next visit.
